Our mission is to provide an exceptional ground spread service to the Central Plateau region. To achieve this, we run modern, well-maintained gear, have a team of highly experienced staff on hand and adhere to high standards of operation. Our Fertiliser division works out of our Broadlands, Taupo and Rotorua depots. They service farms right across the Central Plateau from Rangitaiki to Tokoroa and out to the Western Bays. Fertiliser Suppliers
We work with all reputable fertiliser companies such as Ravensdown, Ballance, FertCo, Kiwi Fertiliser, Functional Fertiliser. For supply of lime we work with Rorisons, Websters Supreme, Graymont. To meet Biogrow/organic farming standards, along with M bovis control requirements, all equipment is cleaned thoroughly to prevent contamination before carting and spreading.
Bulk Fertiliser Cartage
With three fully Spreadmark-certified Scania 4×4 spreading units on hand, and access to further units, Riley and his fertiliser ground spreading team can service all your ground spread needs. Each unit can cart and spread 20 tonnes at a time.

Urea
Our equipment is calibrated to allow application of Urea at rates starting from 50kg/ha. To fit in with your farm fertiliser application plan, we are able to spread anything from 1 ton upwards per application.
We understand that timely application of nitrogen is important to maximise grass growth, and we will work with you to ensure that your nitrogen applications are applied when it is best for you.
Lime
We can supply, cart and spread lime.
Our groundspreaders are able to spread lime at varying spread rates, we can easily spread at the standard lime rates of 1250kg/ha, and 2500kg/ha, but can also handle rates up to 5000kg/ha in one single pass. This enables us to spread what you require on pastures, crops, or cultivated land.
Standard Fertilisers and Storage
We have the capacity to store and spread all standard superphosphate fertiliser blends in any quantity and quality.
Organic fertilisers
We have a robust organic spreading protocol ensuring that all our groundspreaders and associated equipment compile fully with organic farming requirements.
We are able to supply, cart and spread chicken litter, calf litter plus certified organic whey.
Application & Safety System
For the safety of the Midlands Rural Transport staff and your own, all our spreaders are fitted with anti-roll systems which alert the office if the cab tips over 45 degrees. All spreaders have full roll bars, and every driver carries an e-pirb devices.
The application is fully automated with twin spinners spreading both granular and powder fertiliser types extremely efficiently. This system allows us to spread large quantities of fertiliser over a large area with the lowest possible number of passes. The trucks are also fitted with scales to enable accurate weighing of product preventing over or under fertilising.
Precision Tracking
We ensure we use industry specific software to not only dispatch our trucks but also to guide and document the applications of fertiliser.
All our trucks run both Tracmap and Precision Tracking software to enable you to access proof of placement data. The driver can see in real time where they have spread, eliminating overlaps, and missed areas. This information is also easily retrievable if a spreader is required to return to finish an application later.

Spreadmark Certified
All our fertiliser ground spreading trucks are Spreadmark certified for accurate application of fertiliser products in accordance with the Spreadmark code of practice.
We re-test all our equipment on a regular basis to maintain our high level of excellence in spreading. We are also a member of the Groundspread Fertilisers Association.
